Responsibilities
Design AI-Powered Scientific Workflows (60–80% hands-on)
- Lead end-to-end UX for AI-driven features involving lab data inputs (e.g., ELN/LIMS systems) and model outputs
- Translate algorithmic logic into simple, intuitive user interactions
- Collaborate with platform and data science teams to deliver production-ready designs
Strategic Product Leadership
- Define UX roadmaps with product managers and scientific stakeholders
- Ensure user-centered thinking informs platform and feature decisions
- Balance technical constraints with usability and scientific accuracy
User Research and Iteration
- Conduct research with end-users in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
- Prototype and iterate quickly to solve real-world pain points in lab workflows
- Prioritize features that drive adoption and scientific impact
Design System and Pattern Development
- Expand and refine our design system for consistency across AI features
- Support scalability across enterprise-level scientific applications
Requirements
- 10+ years of UX design experience, including 3+ years leading design on AI/ML platforms
- Experience working in enterprise SaaS, life sciences, or highly regulated environments
- Strong portfolio showcasing complex data visualizations, scientific or AI interfaces, and workflow design
- Proven ability to collaborate with data scientists and scientists to create usable tools
- Deep understanding of user needs in scientific or technical domains
- Proficiency in Figma, Miro, and similar design and prototyping tools
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Must be based in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, or a related field
- Published work on AI-human collaboration or scientific interface design
