Runway is an AI research and technology company building generative models and tools for creative work and world simulation.
Its work combines artificial intelligence with visual media, research and creative technology, with applications spanning content creation, storytelling, simulation and other emerging AI experiences.
About the Role
Runway is looking for a Growth Designer focused on Product Marketing to create high-performing visual content across its paid marketing channels.
This is a hands-on, high-output position sitting between visual design, performance marketing and generative AI.
You'll create video, motion and static advertising designed not only to look polished, but also to perform. Your work will help shape how potential users first discover and understand Runway's AI products.
You'll report to the Creative Director of Product Marketing and collaborate closely with Growth, Product Marketing and Creative teams.
Build your AI-powered visual design skills
Designlab's AI for Visual Design course explores how designers can use generative AI within real creative workflows — particularly relevant for roles combining visual craft, prompting and AI-generated imagery.

What You'll Do
Create Performance Marketing Content
You'll design and produce a high volume of creative assets across:
- Paid social
- Display advertising
- YouTube
- Video campaigns
- Motion graphics
- Static advertising
You'll own creative execution from initial idea through final delivery, working from existing briefs while also developing new creative directions when appropriate.
Design with Generative AI
Generative AI is a core part of the creative workflow in this position.
You'll use Runway and other generative tools to:
- Generate image and video concepts.
- Explore new creative directions.
- Iterate quickly on ideas.
- Develop campaign assets.
- Refine AI-generated outputs with strong art direction.
- Build reusable prompting strategies.
Runway is looking for someone who understands that successful AI-generated creative requires more than simply producing an output — the final work must feel deliberate, polished and aligned with the brand.
Motion & Video Design
You'll create motion and video content capable of communicating product value quickly across fast-moving advertising environments.
Strong experience with tools such as After Effects and Premiere — or equivalent professional software — is important.
You'll be expected to independently produce polished animated and video assets rather than relying on a separate motion team.
Performance Creative & Experimentation
Creative decisions will also be informed by performance data.
You'll:
- Produce creative variations for A/B testing.
- Participate in multivariate experiments.
- Test different visual hooks.
- Adapt formats and treatments based on results.
- Analyze creative performance metrics.
- Use those insights to determine what should be tested next.
The goal is to combine strong visual craft with measurable marketing performance.
Paid Social
You should have practical experience designing advertising for major paid platforms such as:
- Meta
- YouTube
That includes understanding platform-specific formats, aspect ratios, creative conventions and the types of content that perform effectively across different channels.
Product Marketing & GTM
You'll collaborate with Product Marketing on go-to-market initiatives, translating new Runway capabilities into visual stories that are easy for target audiences to understand.
You'll also help maintain and improve GTM assets, templates and presentation systems.
This includes contributing to automated deck-design systems that help teams maintain visual consistency without repeatedly rebuilding presentations manually.
Creative Systems
Beyond individual campaigns, you'll contribute reusable assets that increase the team's creative velocity.
These may include:
- Design components
- Motion templates
- Campaign templates
- Generative AI workflows
- Prompting strategies
- Presentation systems
The challenge is to create reusable systems without allowing advertising to become repetitive or overly templated.
What They're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in performance marketing design, motion design or a related creative role.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong video, motion and static advertising work.
- Strong visual and art-direction judgment.
- Advanced motion-design capabilities.
- Experience with After Effects, Premiere or equivalent tools.
- Strong graphic-design fundamentals.
- Excellent typography, layout and color skills.
- Experience designing performance-focused advertising.
- Hands-on experience with AI image and video generation tools.
- Strong prompting and AI iteration skills.
- Ability to transform AI-generated material into polished creative work.
- Understanding of performance marketing metrics.
- Experience using creative data to guide design iterations.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Experience collaborating with Growth and Product teams.
- Strong understanding of paid advertising channels.
