Dropbox is looking for a Design Leader to lead teams in crafting exceptional user experiences for one of their most critical product areas. This is a high-impact role where you’ll define long-term vision, scale design operations, and ensure a seamless experience across the Dropbox platform.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US.
What You’ll Do
- Lead product design teams responsible for Dropbox’s core user experience
- Define and articulate a bold, long-term design vision and strategy
- Ensure design quality is consistently high across all touchpoints
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Marketing to ship high-impact features
- Elevate the craft and quality of the design discipline within Dropbox
- Foster a culture of customer obsession, fast iteration, and strong collaboration
- Build and mentor a best-in-class design team
- Partner with other design leaders to ensure a cohesive customer journey across products
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing product design teams
- A strong design portfolio—whether personal or from teams you’ve led—that demonstrates user-centered thinking and shipped impact
- A hands-on leader who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels
- Confident working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building clarity in fast-paced environments
- Collaborative, low-ego, and passionate about team culture and people development
Bonus Points For
- Experience building and launching 0→1 consumer products
- Familiarity with generative AI tools, LLMs, or computational design workflows
- A track record of driving innovation while maintaining high design standards
Compensation (US-based role)
Dropbox uses location-based pay zones across the US:
- Zone 1 (e.g., SF, NYC, Seattle): $252,500 – $341,600
- Zone 2 (e.g., Austin, Chicago, Boston): $227,200 – $307,400
- Zone 3 (all other US locations): $202,000 – $273,200
