A growing ecommerce-focused agency is seeking a creative and conversion-minded Web Designer to join their fully remote team. The role focuses on building Shopify-based websites and branding for independent retail brands, translating the unique feel of in-store shopping into an engaging online experience.

About the Role
You’ll collaborate with a small, fast-moving team to design home, collection, and product pages, develop brand identity assets, and ensure layouts are optimized for conversion. You’ll also contribute to internal marketing efforts through the creation of visual materials such as lead magnets, social media graphics, and promotional assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create mockups for Shopify websites using Sketch (or similar tools like Figma, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Develop brand identity assets (color palettes, fonts, visuals) in Canva
  • Participate in brand discovery sessions to help define voice, visuals, and ideal customer profiles
  • Apply ecommerce best practices to design layouts that drive sales
  • Revise designs based on feedback from clients and the internal team
  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs align with strategy and goals
  • Support internal marketing campaigns with digital design work

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

  • Attend team and client meetings to review project progress
  • Manage multiple design projects at different stages
  • Communicate with the team via Slack, Basecamp, Loom, and Zoom
  • Track deliverables and deadlines to keep projects on schedule

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of design principles, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with Sketch (or equivalent tools)
  • Basic knowledge of ecommerce design best practices
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Comfortable with feedback and collaborative work environments

Preferred Experience

  • Ecommerce or retail brand design experience
  • Shopify storefront design
  • Knowledge of conversion-focused design
  • Familiarity with marketing funnel and email design
