Lyntris is a defense technology company developing integrated hardware and software systems for U.S. and allied defense organizations.
Its technology supports more than 200 active defense programs across space, air, land, sea, and cyber environments, with a focus on helping teams interpret complex conditions and make faster, more informed decisions.
About the Role
Lyntris is looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead complex digital product experiences from initial problem definition through implementation.
This is a highly autonomous position that extends beyond traditional UI design. You'll help define product direction, explore ambiguous problems, work directly with engineering, and use AI-assisted prototyping to turn concepts into realistic interactive experiences.
A major part of the role is creating prototypes that behave more like real products than static mockups, incorporating user flows, system states, conditional logic, edge cases, and representative data.
What You'll Do
- Lead product design from discovery and problem framing through implementation.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear user experiences.
- Define user journeys, interaction models, system states, and high-fidelity interfaces.
- Create realistic interactive prototypes to validate ideas before development.
- Use Figma and AI-assisted tools such as Figma Make and Claude Code to accelerate prototyping.
- Explore AI-enabled workflows including Figma MCP or comparable integrations.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure concepts are technically realistic and implementation-ready.
- Conduct workshops, ideation sessions, discovery exercises, and design sprints.
- Use research, testing, usability feedback, and task-success measures to improve designs.
- Present concepts and trade-offs to clients, technical teams, stakeholders, and executives.
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions.
- Help evolve the company's design systems and product-design practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level designers.
What They're Looking For
Candidates should bring senior-level experience in Product Design, UX/UI, Interaction Design, or a related discipline, with evidence of owning complex digital products end to end.
Relevant experience includes:
- Strong product and interaction design skills.
- Advanced prototyping experience using Figma or similar tools.
- Designing realistic flows, system behaviors, conditional logic, and edge cases.
- Working with complex or ambiguous product requirements.
- AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows.
- Design systems.
- User research and usability testing.
- Close collaboration with engineering.
- Presenting design rationale and strategic decisions to senior stakeholders.
- Mentoring less-experienced designers.
- Working independently with significant ownership.
AI-Assisted Product Design
AI is a meaningful part of this position.
Lyntris specifically mentions designers using tools and workflows such as:
Figma Make · Claude Code · Figma MCP · AI-assisted prototyping
The expectation is to use these technologies to explore concepts faster, create more functional prototypes, improve alignment with design systems, and communicate product behavior more effectively to engineering.
This makes the position particularly relevant for product designers developing skills at the intersection of design, AI and technical prototyping.
Nice to Have
Additional relevant experience includes:
- Defense or national-security products.
- Government or highly technical environments.
- Claude Code, Figma Make, or comparable AI development tools.
- Figma MCP or similar integrations.
- Using representative or real datasets within prototypes.
- Leading design-thinking workshops or design sprints.
- Influencing product strategy and roadmaps.
- Working directly with external clients.
- Active-duty military experience.
Security Clearance
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
Positions requiring access to U.S. National Security information require U.S. citizenship and the appropriate security eligibility. An existing active clearance is an advantage but is not listed as a universal requirement for applying.
The position may also involve up to 10% travel.
Benefits
Lyntris lists benefits including:
- Paid time off.
- Paid company holidays.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- HSA and FSA options.
- Life insurance.
- Short- and long-term disability coverage.
- 401(k) matching.
- Employee Assistance Program.
