If you’re motivated by designing products that genuinely protect people, this role may be a strong match.
Role Overview
BlackCloak is hiring a Lead Product Designer to guide the UX and UI direction across its mobile app, client portal, and internal platforms. You will combine hands-on design work with system-level ownership, ensuring every product feels consistent, secure, and intuitive. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to turn complex cybersecurity workflows into clear, trustworthy experiences.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advocate for user experience across all product teams.
- Strengthen and expand the design function as a key part of the development lifecycle.
- Lead and mentor a mixed team of internal designers and contractors.
- Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs for both web and mobile.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and security specialists to simplify complex cyber concepts.
- Contribute to the UX strategy for three connected applications and maintain cross-platform consistency.
- Convert security and technical requirements into usable, privacy-focused interface patterns.
- Build and evolve a token-based design system and maintain component libraries.
- Shape the long-term multi-platform design architecture.
- Stay current with trends in cybersecurity, accessibility, and UX best practices.
- Participate in research, usability testing, and feedback sessions with high-risk user groups.
- Support the refinement of internal design processes, documentation, and design reviews.
- Present concepts to stakeholders and iterate quickly based on feedback.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation.
Requirements
- Degree in Design, HCI, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in product/UI/UX design, ideally within cybersecurity, SaaS, or enterprise tools.
- Strong skills in Figma (preferred) or similar tools.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design, responsive layouts, and accessibility.
- Experience running user research and usability studies with sensitive user groups.
- Familiarity with privacy-first and security-focused design practices.
- Clear communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
Compensation
$80,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
