This job is curated by UX Remote Talent from external sources. We are not affiliated with the employer.

ExtraHop is looking for a Learning Experience Designer to create digital training experiences that help customers understand, adopt and successfully use complex cybersecurity technology.

Joining the Digital Support and Education team, you'll combine instructional design, multimedia production and learning strategy to transform technical information into clear, engaging and practical learning experiences.

You'll collaborate with subject-matter experts across ExtraHop while designing content around how customers understand, apply and retain new knowledge.

What You'll Do

You'll design and produce self-paced digital learning experiences for ExtraHop customers, taking projects from initial research and instructional planning through production and publication.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create tutorials and explainer videos for technical products and concepts.
  • Produce multimedia content using screen recordings, motion graphics, audio and voiceovers.
  • Apply instructional design principles and learning theory when structuring courses.
  • Write course design documents and video scripts.
  • Partner with subject-matter experts to identify customer knowledge and skills gaps.
  • Research technical topics independently using internal and external resources.
  • Turn complex information into learning experiences that are easier to understand and apply.
  • Build and publish courses through ExtraHop's learning management system.
  • Perform quality reviews of courses, assessments and updated learning materials.
  • Maintain existing educational content as ExtraHop's products and technology evolve.

Designing Better Digital Learning Experiences

This role requires more than producing training materials.

You'll need to understand how customers interact with complex technical information and determine the best way to structure that information for comprehension, practical application and retention.

That means balancing instructional strategy with visual communication, multimedia production and customer needs while working closely with technical experts throughout ExtraHop.

Tools & Creative Skills

ExtraHop is looking for approximately three years of experience working with Adobe Creative tools, including:

  • After Effects.
  • Illustrator.
  • Photoshop.
  • Audition.

You'll also need around three years of experience with e-learning authoring platforms such as:

  • Articulate Storyline.
  • Adobe Captivate.
  • Similar digital learning tools.

Because video and multimedia are an important part of the role, experience combining motion graphics, visual assets, screen capture and audio will be particularly useful.

What You'll Need

ExtraHop is looking for candidates with:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience designing instructional content for complex subjects.
  • Experience creating self-paced learning materials for customers or other external audiences.
  • Around three years of Adobe Creative experience.
  • Around three years working with course-authoring tools.
  • The ability to understand unfamiliar technical concepts quickly and with limited guidance.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience translating customer needs into practical deliverables.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance.

A background in adult education would be particularly valuable.

Nice to Have

ExtraHop would also value:

  • Experience working within a high-growth technology company.
  • Experience administering the Skilljar LMS.
  • Knowledge of IT environments, networking and troubleshooting.
  • Certifications in areas such as UX, front-end development, digital marketing or web analytics.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating Graphic Design, Web Design or UX/UI work.
