What does “boardroom-ready” look like to an AI?

OpenTrain AI is looking for experienced management consultants to help train AI systems to produce something considerably harder than a plausible-looking answer: structured, concise work that could actually be put in front of an executive.

This is a remote contract opportunity where your consulting experience becomes the subject-matter expertise used to create examples, evaluate AI outputs, and establish what high-quality professional reasoning should look like.

What you'll work on

Rather than advising a traditional client, you'll recreate and evaluate the kinds of deliverables consultants produce every day.

Your work will include:

• Designing realistic consulting tasks based on case analyses, client conversations, and executive or board-level scenarios.
• Creating reference-quality strategy memos, presentations, executive summaries, and recommendations.
• Reviewing AI-generated work for structure, reasoning, clarity, and practical usefulness.
• Applying frameworks such as MECE, the pyramid principle, and issue trees when assessing model outputs.
• Developing evaluation rubrics that separate an acceptable first draft from genuinely executive-ready work.
• Spotting problems such as buried key messages, unnecessary verbosity, weak logic, or recommendations that aren't sufficiently actionable.
• Giving precise feedback that can be used to improve future model performance.
• Revising examples and evaluation criteria as project requirements evolve.

They're looking for consulting experience, not AI credentials

Previous AI training experience isn't the central requirement here.

OpenTrain is looking for professionals with at least 3 years of experience at a top-tier consulting firm or a comparable consulting environment who understand what excellent client work looks like.

You should be comfortable producing polished decks and concise executive documents, structuring ambiguous problems, and communicating recommendations clearly in written English.

Experience reviewing other consultants' work and giving detailed feedback will be particularly relevant.

A master's degree is preferred, with an MBA especially valued, but the professional consulting background is what really defines this opportunity.

Why this role is different

The $100–$200/hour rate reflects the specialized expertise OpenTrain is looking for.

Instead of performing generic data annotation, you're effectively helping establish the standard against which an AI's strategic reasoning and executive communication will be judged.

It's a US-only, remote contractor position, with a commitment of at least 20 hours per week.

For someone coming from consulting who wants to apply that experience to AI without moving into engineering or machine learning, this is an unusual—and very well-paid—way into the space.
