Bring market research expertise into AI training
OpenTrain AI is looking for a Market Research AI Training Expert to help develop high-quality training and evaluation material for advanced AI systems.
Instead of conducting traditional market research for a single product or company, you'll use your expertise to create realistic scenarios that challenge AI models on areas such as survey design, research methodology, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and consumer insights.
This is a short-term remote engagement suited to researchers and analysts interested in applying their existing skills to the rapidly developing field of AI evaluation.
What you'll be working on
You'll create and assess research-focused exercises designed to measure how well AI systems understand and solve realistic market research problems.
Your work will include:
- Developing realistic market research and analytics scenarios.
- Creating tasks that test research design and methodological reasoning.
- Designing survey-related exercises and evaluation material.
- Building scenarios involving quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Creating reference answers that establish what a strong response should contain.
- Developing structured evaluation criteria and scoring rubrics.
- Reviewing datasets and research scenarios for methodological quality.
- Assessing technical accuracy and whether tasks reflect realistic professional situations.
- Refining work based on feedback from senior reviewers.
- Following project quality standards and delivery milestones.
What they're looking for
OpenTrain is seeking candidates with approximately 3 years of practical experience in areas such as:
- Market research.
- Marketing analytics.
- Consumer insights.
- Survey design.
- Quantitative research.
- Qualitative research.
You should understand how to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different research approaches and be able to communicate that reasoning clearly in writing.
Experience producing research plans, surveys, analytical reports, or consumer-insight presentations is particularly relevant.
AI training experience isn't essential
Previous work directly with AI isn't positioned as a core requirement.
Your market research expertise is the primary skill being applied to the project. However, experience in areas such as AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or structured analytical review could be useful.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical professional experience is accepted.
What AI training work involves
Human expertise plays an important role in improving AI systems.
For this project, you'll help create examples of realistic market research problems, establish what high-quality answers should look like, and develop criteria that can be used to assess AI-generated responses.
That means combining domain expertise with analytical judgment, rather than simply labeling data or reviewing content mechanically.
Schedule and availability
This is a nine-week contractor engagement.
Candidates should be available for:
- At least 20 hours per week.
- Up to 40 hours per week.
- A minimum of approximately four working hours per day.
- Four hours of working-time overlap with Pacific Time.
The role is remote but currently limited to candidates based in the United States.
