OpenX is looking for a Marketing Design Intern to join its creative team for a paid remote internship running from October through December 2026.

This is an opportunity for an early-career designer to gain hands-on professional experience creating real marketing and brand work across digital, print and interactive experiences.

You'll work alongside OpenX's Lead Designer and Creative Director, contribute to high-impact marketing projects and gain exposure to how an established technology company manages its visual identity.

The internship pays $21.25–$25 per hour and requires approximately 20–30 hours per week.

Get real-world design experience

You'll become part of the OpenX design team and contribute to projects connected to the company's brand and marketing communications.

Your work may include:

  • Creating branded marketing and communication materials
  • Supporting digital and print design projects
  • Helping coordinate design audits
  • Researching industry trends and marketing touchpoints
  • Editing photography for web and print
  • Expanding OpenX's photography and brand libraries
  • Organizing and maintaining creative files
  • Supporting additional projects across the design team

You'll report directly to the Lead Designer while collaborating with the Creative Director, providing exposure to both day-to-day execution and broader creative direction.

Develop your visual design craft

OpenX is looking for someone with a solid understanding of fundamental design principles and the ability to apply them across different formats.

The internship gives you an opportunity to develop professional experience across areas including:

  • Brand identity
  • Typography
  • Layout
  • Photography
  • Digital design
  • Print design
  • Interactive media
  • Marketing collateral

You'll also gain experience working within an established brand and maintaining visual consistency across different channels and formats.

Adobe Creative Suite is a core skill

OpenX is particularly interested in candidates with strong technical abilities across Adobe Creative Suite.

Relevant tools include:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop

Strong proficiency with Google Slides and Google Docs is also expected.

Figma experience is considered a plus rather than a requirement, so the opportunity could be particularly relevant for students whose current strengths are in graphic, visual or marketing design.

Who should apply?

OpenX is looking for candidates working toward a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, although an equivalent portfolio of work can also demonstrate the necessary creative ability.

You should have:

  • A good understanding of fundamental design principles
  • A portfolio demonstrating your creative ability
  • Experience creating static, dynamic or interactive work
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize different projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to clearly communicate creative ideas

You don't need years of professional design experience, making this a particularly interesting opportunity for someone trying to turn their existing design skills into real industry experience.

Your portfolio matters

OpenX specifically asks applicants to submit an online portfolio with their application.

For an internship like this, your portfolio is an opportunity to demonstrate your visual judgment even if you don't yet have extensive professional experience.

Consider showcasing projects that demonstrate:

  • Strong visual fundamentals
  • Typography and hierarchy
  • Layout and composition
  • Brand or marketing design
  • Digital design
  • Your creative process and decision-making

Candidates should also clearly state their availability when applying.
