OpenX is looking for a Motion Designer & Video Editor to create digital-first video and motion content across web, social media and connected TV.
This is a hands-on creative role for someone who can take a project from an initial idea through storyboarding, production, motion design, editing and final delivery. You'll work across everything from fast-moving social content to larger brand campaigns while helping OpenX develop a more scalable video-production workflow.
The initial engagement runs through December on a part-time basis, with the possibility of extending and expanding the role.
What You’ll Create
You'll work with OpenX's brand, product marketing and growth teams to translate ideas into compelling visual stories.
Projects can include:
- Brand and campaign videos
- LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram content
- Social teasers and short-form edits
- Sizzle reels
- Explainer animations
- Motion graphics
- Branded digital content
- CTV creative
You'll be responsible for maintaining strong visual quality while adapting the execution to different platforms, audiences and production timelines.
Own the Production Process
OpenX is looking for someone who can operate independently rather than handling only one stage of production.
You'll be involved throughout the creative process, including:
- Developing initial concepts
- Creating storyboards
- Planning and shooting content
- Editing footage
- Designing motion graphics
- Animating visual elements
- Preparing final assets for different channels
- Managing production schedules and priorities
You'll need to balance creative quality with speed, particularly when several productions are moving simultaneously.
Motion Design and Visual Storytelling
A major part of the role is turning complex subjects into content that's easy to understand and engaging to watch.
You'll use motion, editing, pacing and visual storytelling to bring the OpenX brand to life across different formats.
The team is looking for someone with a strong eye for:
- Motion design
- Composition
- Pacing
- Storytelling
- Brand consistency
- Static visual design
- Digital-first video production
Your portfolio or reel should demonstrate range across these areas rather than video editing alone.
Working With External Production Partners
For larger campaigns, you'll also collaborate with third-party production agencies.
You'll provide creative direction and visual guidance, review work and help ensure external productions remain consistent with OpenX's brand standards.
This means the role combines hands-on execution with the ability to direct and evaluate creative work produced by others.
Using AI in the Creative Workflow
OpenX is interested in designers who are comfortable experimenting with new production methods.
Part of the role involves identifying opportunities to improve the production workflow and using AI-enabled creative and editing tools where they can increase speed or improve output quality.
Familiarity with AI-assisted video, editing or production workflows is therefore valuable, although the core requirement remains strong motion and video craft.
What OpenX Is Looking For
OpenX is seeking candidates with 5+ years of experience across motion design, video editing or content creation.
Experience within B2B technology or AdTech is particularly relevant, whether from an agency or an internal creative team.
Strong candidates should have:
- 5+ years of motion design, video editing or content-production experience
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Strong knowledge of modern video-production workflows
- Experience creating content for social platforms
- A portfolio or reel demonstrating motion, static design and video work
- Strong visual storytelling and editing instincts
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage several productions simultaneously
- A collaborative, commercially aware approach to creative work
- Familiarity with AI-enabled creative tools
OpenX is particularly interested in people who can combine creative execution with an understanding of how branded content performs.
Contract, Schedule and Compensation
The stated compensation range is:
$44–$52 per hour
OpenX plans to begin with a part-time commitment of approximately 2–3 days per week, allowing both sides to establish the expected production volume and creative direction.
The initial engagement runs from September through December, with an option to extend. OpenX indicates that it would eventually like to expand the engagement toward a full-week schedule if the collaboration and production needs support it.

The company works at the intersection of advertising, technology and media, making this role particularly suited to a motion designer interested in creating sophisticated visual content for a B2B technology brand.
Why Join OpenX?
The position offers considerable ownership over both the creative output and the processes behind it.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Own video projects from concept through delivery
- Work across social, web and CTV
- Create both quick-turn and campaign-level content
- Collaborate with brand and growth teams
- Provide creative direction to external agencies
- Experiment with AI-assisted production workflows
- Help improve OpenX's internal video-production process
- Potentially grow a part-time engagement into a larger commitment
