Part-Time UI/UX Designer (iOS & Web)

SongShift is hiring its first dedicated designer to shape the next version of our iOS and Web experiences. You’ll work closely with a small, fast-moving engineering team and have a direct impact on how users interact with our product.

This is a part-time, remote contract role (10–20 hours per week) for an initial 3-month term, with the possibility to extend.

What You’ll Do

  • Design new features and improve existing ones for iOS and Web platforms
  • Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
  • Build and maintain a cross-platform design system
  • Collaborate with Swift and React engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback and constraints
  • Deliver clear hand-off assets (SVGs, icons, animations)
  • Make accessibility part of every decision (WCAG, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver)
  • Occasionally contribute marketing visuals, micro-interactions, or brand illustrations

Requirements

  • 2+ years of UI/UX design experience (freelance or professional)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing mobile and web product design
  • Proficient in Sketch (or other modern design tools)
  • Solid understanding of iOS HIG and responsive design
  • Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical collaborators
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with music or audio apps
  • Motion design (Lottie, After Effects, Framer Motion)
  • Knowledge of accessibility testing (WCAG 2.2)
  • Basic HTML/CSS skills
