About the Company:
Kin is redesigning home insurance to be smarter, faster, and more customer-centric — especially in climate-impacted states. With strong growth, top-tier investors, and recognition from Forbes and Inc., Kin is building a better way to protect what matters most.

The Role:
As Product Design Lead, you’ll drive the design strategy and execution for Kin’s internal Support Tools. These systems power sales, claims, and customer support. You’ll lead high-impact initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and mentor a growing design team.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve agent-facing tools and experiences
  • Design intuitive workflows for complex internal operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and validate solutions
  • Prototype and test using Figma and user feedback
  • Elevate design quality, influence systems, and ensure consistency
  • Run design sprints and present ideas with clarity
  • Mentor at least one other designer as the team grows

You’ll Succeed If You:

  • Lead with a clear, user-centered design vision
  • Thrive in ambiguity and take initiative in shaping product direction
  • Design elegant, accessible enterprise tools at scale
  • Simplify complex systems into intuitive user flows
  • Balance reuse, innovation, and long-term scalability
  • Build inclusive design culture through mentorship and collaboration

You Should Apply If You:

  • Want to work hands-on with tools and strategy
  • Enjoy complex internal tools just as much as customer-facing products
  • Value working in a flexible, fast-moving environment
  • Have a strong portfolio showcasing your design thinking and execution

Please Don’t Apply If:

  • You lack a recent portfolio
  • You’re looking for a purely strategic role
  • You dislike internal tools or backend workflows
  • You prefer rigid roadmaps and clearly defined problem spaces

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • 401K with 4% company match
  • Flexible PTO + 8 holidays
  • Paid parental leave (up to 14 weeks)
  • Full health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Learning and development budget
  • Remote work from 40+ approved US states
