About the Role
Nex is looking for an experienced Product Designer to shape the user experience of its Playground platform. You'll help create intuitive, engaging experiences that make it easy for families to discover, navigate, and enjoy interactive content together.
Working alongside product managers and engineers, you'll improve key user journeys—from onboarding and content discovery to long-term engagement—while helping define the future of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end UX and UI design for the Playground operating system.
- Design intuitive navigation, settings, and gameplay experiences for both children and adults.
- Create web-based account management features that complement the device experience.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to turn ideas into polished user experiences.
- Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using modern design tools.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate concepts and improve product decisions.
- Help develop and evolve a consistent design system across web and device experiences.
- Promote user-centered design practices and encourage customer-focused decision making across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design, UX, or UI design.
- Strong understanding of modern product development processes.
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality consumer product design and interaction thinking.
- Excellent visual design, interaction design, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Comfortable tackling ambiguous problems and turning them into clear design solutions.
- Passion for designing products that bring families together through technology.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing operating systems or TV/"10-foot" interfaces.
- User research and usability testing experience.
- Background designing entertainment or content-driven platforms.
- Experience creating or maintaining scalable design systems.
