Help shape Spotifyβs next generation of advertising products
Spotify is looking for a Product Designer to join its Advertising R&D team and help build the next generation of its advertiser-facing platform.
Spotify Advertising connects brands with listeners across audio and video. As the platform evolves toward a more performance-focused and AI-powered advertising ecosystem, design plays an important role in making increasingly sophisticated tools feel intuitive, trustworthy, and efficient.
You'll work across Spotify's self-service advertising platform, including campaign creation, targeting, reporting, optimization, measurement, and creative tooling.
What you'll be working on
You'll own design quality across a collection of features within Spotify's advertising products, taking complex technical capabilities and turning them into experiences advertisers can understand and use confidently.
Your work will include:
- Designing end-to-end experiences across Spotify Ads Manager.
- Creating experiences for campaign creation, audience targeting, reporting, optimization, and measurement.
- Translating complex backend systems, APIs, and ML-powered capabilities into intuitive interfaces.
- Building prototypes with real data and motion when useful to test interaction models and technical constraints.
- Working closely with Product Managers, engineers, researchers, data scientists, and content designers.
- Contributing to Spotify's shared advertising design system.
- Creating reusable, accessible, and visually consistent components and patterns.
- Helping shape product direction and advocating for advertiser needs.
- Designing internal tools that reduce manual processes and improve operational workflows.
- Participating in design critique and iterative exploration with the wider team.
Designing an AI-powered advertising platform
AI and automation are becoming increasingly important to Spotify's advertising strategy.
You'll work in an environment involving machine learning, automation, experimentation, and data-intensive experiences, helping determine how these capabilities should surface within advertiser workflows.
Spotify is also interested in designers who are actively exploring AI themselves β whether that's using AI within their own design workflow, designing AI-powered features, or both.
You don't need to be an AI specialist, but curiosity about how these technologies are changing digital products and the design process is important.
What they're looking for
Spotify is primarily looking for designers with experience creating complex B2B and data-intensive digital products.
Around 3+ years of Product Design experience is typical for the role, although Spotify emphasizes the quality and depth of your work rather than simply the number of years you've been designing.
You should bring:
- Strong product and UX thinking.
- Excellent visual design fundamentals.
- Experience taking ownership of design quality within a product team.
- The ability to manage several features or workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience simplifying technically complex products.
- Strong collaboration with Product and Engineering.
- The ability to connect design decisions with customer needs and business objectives.
- Confidence presenting and advocating for your design decisions.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- An iterative approach to design and a willingness to actively seek feedback.
- Interest in AI-powered products and AI-assisted design workflows.
Nice to have
You'll stand out if you've previously worked on:
- Advertising or monetization platforms.
- Creative automation products.
- Operational or internal tools.
- High-volume workflows.
- Large-scale design systems.
- Data-heavy B2B software.
These aren't mandatory requirements.
Location & working model
Spotify offers flexibility around where employees work best.
For this particular role, candidates can be located within the North America region where Spotify has a work location.
The team collaborates primarily across the Eastern Time Zone.
Compensation & benefits
The US base salary range is:
$119,424β$170,606 USD + equity
Final compensation and level depend on experience, location, relevant work history, and interview performance.
Benefits include:
- Health insurance.
- Equity.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Six months of paid parental leave.
- 23 paid days off.
- 13 flexible paid holidays.
- Monthly meal allowance.
Why this role stands out
This is an interesting opportunity for a Product Designer who wants to combine complex B2B UX, data visualization, design systems, experimentation, and AI within a product operating at Spotify's scale.
Rather than AI being a side initiative, Spotify describes its advertising platform itself as evolving toward an AI-powered future β while also explicitly looking for designers who are incorporating AI into how they work.
Spotify is an equal-opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process.
