The Role
As a Product Designer at Castle, you’ll help create a simpler, more intuitive way for homeowners to manage their finances. You’ll design experiences across web and mobile that are clear, cohesive, and impactful.
You'll work closely with the Head of Design and collaborate across engineering, product, and operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who brings strong visual and interaction design skills—and wants to help shape a consumer brand from the ground up.
We’re open to both full-time and part-time candidates.
What you’ll do
- Lead user research with product and ops to understand user pain points and priorities
- Translate insights into clear, elegant design solutions
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation
- Build and maintain a consistent design system across platforms
- Evolve Castle’s visual language and interaction patterns
What we’re looking for
- A strong portfolio that shows clean, user-focused design across web and mobile
- Solid visual fundamentals: layout, typography, hierarchy, color, clarity
- Experience in user-centered design, including research and validation
- Technical fluency—you can work effectively with engineers and understand constraints
- Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
- Interest in homeownership, fintech, or consumer digital products
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience designing web or mobile products, or a Master’s in Interaction Design / HCI
- Proficiency with Figma and modern design tools
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
- Bonus: Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Webflow, motion design
- Bonus: Background in fintech or consumer tech
