Design complex products in an AI-native workflow

Clariti is looking for an experienced Product Designer to join its design team and help create software that enables local governments to deliver better services to their communities.

This isn't a traditional product design role. Design is embedded directly within an AI-native product development process, and you'll work with a hybrid Figma + Claude workflow to move from product problems to production-ready interfaces and functional prototypes.

You'll partner closely with a Senior Product Designer while taking ownership across the full design process, from research and early flows through high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and delivery.

What you'll be working on

Clariti builds software for government teams managing complex processes and services. That means designing for multiple personas, interconnected workflows, and products where clarity and reliability matter.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning design from initial user flows and wireframes through polished UI and interactive prototypes.
  • Designing AI-powered experiences that make complex capabilities understandable and trustworthy.
  • Using Figma and Claude together to explore and iterate on product experiences.
  • Creating clickable HTML prototypes for demos, testing, and validation.
  • Designing complex workflows for municipal government employees and public applicants.
  • Translating technical capabilities into clear user experiences.
  • Ensuring experiences are accessible, consistent, and practical for real-world use.
  • Exploring emerging AI interaction patterns while applying them intentionally rather than simply following trends.

Research and validation

Research is part of the role rather than a separate phase of the process.

You'll conduct and contribute to user interviews, usability testing, and research synthesis, using AI-assisted tools where they can accelerate the work without compromising the quality of the insights.

You'll work with Product to validate ideas early, understand the problems government teams face, and use evidence to guide design decisions before significant development work begins.

Help shape an AI-native design practice

Clariti is specifically looking for a designer comfortable treating AI as both part of the product experience and part of the design process.

You'll use Claude or similar LLMs as a design partner and help determine how AI-native design should work within the company.

The role also involves close collaboration with Engineering, including contributing to Clariti's shared design system, extending component libraries, and making sure design intent survives implementation.

What they're looking for

You should have 4+ years of Product Design experience and a portfolio demonstrating both strong UX thinking and high-quality visual execution.

You'll need strong end-to-end product design skills across:

  • Information architecture and user flows.
  • Wireframing and high-fidelity UI.
  • Interactive prototyping.
  • Figma and component libraries.
  • User research and usability testing.
  • Complex web applications.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering.

Hands-on experience using Claude or another LLM as part of your design workflow is particularly important.

Clariti also wants someone comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment, communicating design decisions clearly, and taking ownership when requirements are still ambiguous.

You'll stand out if...

Experience designing enterprise SaaS or government technology will be particularly useful.

Clariti is also interested in designers who have worked on complex, multi-persona products such as case management, permitting, licensing, or other workflow-heavy applications.

Knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards, inclusive design, or agentic development frameworks is another advantage.

Contract & compensation

This is a full-time contract running through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of an extension.

Clariti has a budget of $70–$100/hour, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

The company operates remotely, although team members may be expected to travel for company or departmental meetings approximately 1–2 times per year.

Successful candidates will also be required to complete relevant background checks.

Clariti is committed to building an inclusive workplace and welcomes applicants from different backgrounds and experiences.
