Figma is hiring a Product Designer specializing in Design Systems to help evolve the shared patterns, components and interaction standards used across its growing family of products.
You'll join the team responsible for Figma's Pattern Library, working on the foundations that allow different Figma experiences to feel consistent while still supporting increasingly complex products and workflows.
This is a senior role for a designer who understands how to turn complicated product requirements into simple, reusable and scalable systems—and who is comfortable taking those solutions from early concepts through implementation.
What You’ll Be Designing
As Figma expands beyond a single product, maintaining a coherent experience across its ecosystem becomes increasingly important.
You'll contribute to the strategy behind Figma's cross-product design system and help determine how shared patterns should behave across different experiences.
Your work will include:
- Shaping the strategy for cross-product design systems
- Defining shared interaction and interface patterns
- Creating scalable components for multiple Figma products
- Developing flows, prototypes and high-fidelity designs
- Iterating on existing components as product requirements evolve
- Establishing clear approaches to consistency across products
- Working with teams to improve adoption of the design system
- Helping evolve the system as Figma's product ecosystem grows
The challenge isn't simply creating a component library. You'll need to think about how individual design decisions affect multiple products, teams and user experiences.
Working Across Product, Design and Engineering
Design systems at Figma require close collaboration across disciplines.
You'll partner with Product Management, Engineering and other Design teams to move shared patterns from concept into production and ensure they're implemented consistently.
That means being able to communicate design decisions clearly, manage dependencies between teams and navigate projects that cross organizational boundaries.
You'll also be expected to contribute to broader decisions about where the design system should go next rather than focusing only on individual components.
What Figma Is Looking For
Figma is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience specifically working as a Design Systems designer.
You should be able to demonstrate experience taking complex product problems and transforming them into solutions that can scale across multiple products.

This role goes beyond designing components exclusively inside a design tool.
Figma specifically values designers who can build concepts in code and use production-quality prototypes or implementations to communicate design decisions.
That makes the position particularly relevant for designers who are comfortable operating closer to the boundary between design and engineering.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is:
$164,000–$294,000 USD
Final compensation depends on factors including experience, qualifications, expected impact, scope of the role, market conditions and work location.

Work Location
The position can be based at one of Figma's U.S. hubs or performed remotely within the United States.
Candidates hired for the role are required to attend onboarding in person.
