The Role
As a Product Designer on Brilliant’s “Interactives” team, you’ll design game-like modules that teach complex concepts through engaging, interactive experiences. You will collaborate with engineers, content experts, and other designers to prototype and ship polished, high-fidelity experiences that improve learner outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design new educational modules for web and mobile.
  • Develop and refine interaction patterns for math, data, and computing concepts (e.g., symbolic math, drag-and-drop coding, graph construction).
  • Prototype quickly and test feasibility, usability, and delight before engineering.
  • Produce polished UI, motion studies, prototypes, and clear design specs.
  • Collaborate with content experts to turn pedagogical requirements into effective user experiences.
  • Extend and maintain design systems across platforms.
  • Uphold Brilliant’s design standards and brand quality.
  • Continuously ask, “How does this help our learners?”

Qualifications

  • Product design experience at consumer or SaaS companies; experience with content platforms is a plus.
  • Portfolio showcasing complex interaction design from concept to shipped product.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear design solutions.
  • Skilled in prototyping tools like Figma, Principle, or Framer.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Passion for education and interactive learning.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $230,000/year (location-based adjustments outside SF/NYC).
