Design financial products used by consumers and businesses
ViaBill is looking for a Product Designer to join its product team and take ownership of key experiences across its consumer and merchant products.
Based in Copenhagen, ViaBill is a fintech company building flexible payment and consumer credit products for shoppers and merchants in Denmark. Its ecosystem includes the ViaBill consumer app, ViaBill Card, and a merchant platform used by thousands of webshops and physical stores.
You'll join as the second designer on the team, working closely with the Lead Product Designer while owning specific product areas from initial problem definition through to shipped UI.
This is a hands-on position with short decision paths and the opportunity to see your work reach users quickly.
What You'll Do
You'll take responsibility for defined areas across both merchant-facing and consumer products.
Your work will include:
- Owning design projects from problem framing and user flows through final UI and implementation.
- Designing experiences for ViaBill's merchant platform and consumer products.
- Exploring multiple design directions before deciding on a final approach.
- Presenting concepts and explaining design decisions to non-design stakeholders.
- Working within ViaBill's existing design system and helping evolve its components and standards.
- Running lightweight usability tests to validate ideas.
- Using product and funnel data to identify opportunities to improve existing experiences.
- Designing clear multi-step experiences around payments, credit, consent, and applications.
- Creating polished web and campaign pages and other visual assets when needed.
- Preparing structured design handoffs and staying involved with developers during implementation and QA.
Designing for Fintech
One of the interesting challenges of this role is balancing user experience with regulatory requirements.
Payment and consumer-credit experiences often require disclosures, consent, verification, and carefully structured application processes.
You'll need to make those experiences understandable and easy to navigate while ensuring important information and actions remain clear and compliant.
That makes this particularly relevant for designers interested in complex workflows rather than purely visual UI work.
What They're Looking For
ViaBill is looking for a designer with approximately 2–4 years of experience designing shipped web and mobile products.
Experience in fintech, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS would be particularly relevant.
You should bring:
- A portfolio containing 2–3 strong product design case studies.
- Evidence of the problem, alternatives explored, decisions made, and outcomes in your portfolio.
- Strong Figma skills.
- Experience with components, variants, and Auto Layout.
- Experience designing within an established design system.
- Strong UX and interaction design fundamentals.
- Confidence presenting and defending design decisions.
- Clear written and spoken English.
- The ability to collaborate closely with product and engineering teams.
- Availability for CET working-hours overlap.
- EU-based location.
ViaBill is particularly interested in designers who take ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tickets, share work early, and are comfortable changing direction when research or data points toward a better solution.
Nice to Have
You'll have an advantage if you've previously worked on:
- Fintech or other regulated digital products.
- Payments or financial applications.
- Onboarding and identity-verification experiences.
- Complex multi-step flows.
- Products serving both consumers and business users.
- Code-based prototyping.
- Motion design.
