Turn complex financial data into products people can actually understand

Dispatch is looking for a Senior Product Designer to take ownership of one of the most important areas of its platform: the workflows financial firms use to move, understand, and manage client data.

This is a role for a designer who enjoys complex systems and data-heavy products. You'll be expected to go beyond producing screens or handing off specifications — you'll own the experience from the initial problem through to what ultimately ships.

You'll also have an opportunity to influence how design itself operates at Dispatch as the company grows.

What you'll be working on

You'll lead design across core custodian and data workflows used by financial advisors and the teams supporting them.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning projects from discovery and problem definition through workflows, detailed interaction design, delivery, and implementation.
  • Transforming large amounts of complicated financial data into interfaces that feel structured and understandable.
  • Designing workflows that can handle complexity without overwhelming users.
  • Integrating new functionality into existing experiences rather than creating disconnected features.
  • Using prototypes to explore ideas and resolve product questions quickly.
  • Working directly with Product and Engineering throughout implementation.
  • Conducting research and usability testing and translating findings into product decisions.
  • Maintaining a high level of craft across hierarchy, spacing, interactions, edge cases, and error states.
  • Helping establish the structures needed for Dispatch's growing design practice.
  • Playing a meaningful role in developing and evolving the company's design system.

What they're looking for

Dispatch is looking for someone with 5+ years of Product Design, UX, or HCI experience and a portfolio demonstrating genuine end-to-end ownership of shipped products.

Complexity matters here. They're particularly interested in designers who have worked on data-dense interfaces, professional tools, or sophisticated workflows, rather than portfolios centered primarily around marketing or straightforward consumer experiences.

You should be able to show how you've taken a difficult problem through discovery, exploration, design, collaboration with engineering, and eventually into production.

Experience contributing substantially to a design system is also important — whether through components, reusable patterns, documentation, or maintaining the system over time.

Design with engineering, not around it

Dispatch wants design to operate closely with Product and Engineering rather than through a traditional handoff model.

You'll need to understand technical constraints, communicate the reasoning behind your decisions, and know when to defend an important interaction and when a compromise makes sense.

Some knowledge of front-end development would be particularly useful, allowing you to collaborate more effectively with engineers and help ensure the quality of the implemented experience matches the original design intent.

AI is becoming part of the product design problem

Dispatch is also interested in designers who are actively developing their understanding of emerging technologies.

Experience designing AI-native interfaces is a particular advantage — including human-in-the-loop workflows, review and approval experiences, and ways of communicating AI confidence or uncertainty.

They're also interested in designers who experiment with new AI tools and incorporate useful ones into how they research, design, prototype, and build.

You'll stand out if...

You've previously worked in fintech, wealth management, enterprise software, or another regulated environment, where products have to accommodate complicated rules and high-stakes workflows.

Workshop facilitation skills, front-end knowledge, AI product experience, and a history of introducing better tools or processes into your own design practice can also strengthen your application.

Above all, Dispatch is looking for someone who can operate independently when the problem isn't fully defined, make thoughtful decisions, and maintain a high standard of execution while moving quickly.

The position can be performed remotely, with the option of working from Dispatch's New York City office.

Dispatch is an equal-opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants without discrimination based on legally protected characteristics.
