Senior Product Designer

Secfix is looking for a Senior Product Designer to take unusually deep ownership of product development — from the first customer conversation and problem definition through design, engineering collaboration and the final experience shipped to production.

This isn't a traditional design-and-handoff position.

Secfix operates without Product Managers, which means designers work directly with engineers and customers, write product specs, determine what should ship and remain involved through implementation and production QA.

The company is remote across EMEA and works synchronously within CET/CEST time zones.

Own products from customer problem to production

You'll work in small teams, typically alongside one or two engineers, and take responsibility for complete product initiatives.

That includes:

• Talking directly with customers
• Identifying and framing product problems
• Defining product requirements
• Writing specifications
• Designing complete product experiences
• Building high-fidelity prototypes
• Pairing closely with engineers during implementation
• Reviewing engineering work and PRs
• Testing experiences in staging
• Verifying the final implementation in production
• Iterating based on customer feedback

At Secfix, handoff isn't where the designer's responsibility ends. You'll remain involved until the experience customers receive matches the intended product and design quality.

Design complex B2B SaaS experiences

Secfix helps European companies manage security and compliance requirements including ISO 27001, GDPR, TISAX and SOC 2.

Its platform connects with tools including AWS, Azure AD, Jira, GitLab and GCP to automate evidence collection and simplify the path toward certification.

That creates challenging product-design problems involving:

• Dense interfaces
• Data-heavy workflows
• Tables and filtering
• Permissions
• Settings
• Automation
• Complex system states
• Multiple integrations
• Enterprise workflows

Secfix wants to make traditionally complicated compliance software feel clear, efficient and calm.

AI is part of both the product and the design process

AI has a significant role in Secfix's product direction.

The company is developing CISO AI, creating opportunities around agentic workflows, intelligent evidence collection, context-aware policy generation and other AI-powered compliance experiences.

AI is also embedded directly into how the product team works.

Designers use tools such as Claude to:

• Challenge and pressure-test ideas
• Explore edge cases
• Draft product specifications
• Generate test cases
• Accelerate prototyping
• Improve design and engineering workflows

Secfix is also interested in building Cursor rules, prompt templates and other AI-enabled tools that allow engineers to make better design decisions independently.

The expectation isn't to let AI replace product thinking, but to use it to increase the team's speed and leverage.

You'll help scale design itself

Shipping features is only one part of the position.

As Secfix's second Product Designer, you'll also help improve the systems that allow the wider team to move faster.

You'll contribute to:

• Maintaining and evolving the component library
• Establishing reusable product patterns
• Improving the product development process
• Building tools that help engineers make stronger design decisions
• Improving design QA
• Creating AI-assisted design workflows
• Defining the quality bar across the product

This is therefore a high-autonomy position for someone comfortable operating without a large design organization around them.

What Secfix is looking for

Secfix is targeting a highly experienced Product Designer with 8+ years designing B2B SaaS desktop applications, ideally at Senior, Staff or Principal level.

Strong candidates should have:

• Extensive B2B SaaS product design experience
• Experience with complex desktop applications
• Strong product and systems thinking
• Excellent interaction and UI design skills
• Advanced Figma capabilities
• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Experience working directly with engineers
• Ability to write product specifications
• Strong customer-facing skills
• Experience using LLMs and AI tools
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments

Experience previously being the only designer or one of a very small design team at a company with fewer than 50 employees is particularly relevant.

Your portfolio should show ownership

Secfix isn't looking for case studies where it's difficult to understand what you personally contributed.

Your portfolio should clearly demonstrate:

• Problems you personally helped define
• Decisions you made
• Features you owned
• How you collaborated with engineers
• Trade-offs between design quality and engineering complexity
• How your designs changed during implementation
• What eventually reached production
• What happened after customers started using it

The company is particularly interested in designers who can demonstrate individual ownership rather than simply describing what their team accomplished.

Your first three months

Secfix expects new designers to become productive quickly.

Month 1: Learn the product, customer language and development process, join customer conversations and ship your first design to production.

Month 2: Take ownership of an entire feature, from customer conversations and problem framing through Figma, specifications, engineering collaboration and production verification.

Month 3+: Start pushing the design system and product design process forward while building tools that make engineers more effective at design.

Interview process

The hiring process typically includes:

2. ~45-minute portfolio discussion with a Product Designer
3. ~3-hour take-home design exercise and presentation
4. ~2-hour virtual team onsite

Remote — EMEA

This is a remote position for candidates within EMEA who can work within CET/CEST time zones.

Secfix is remote-first but not fully asynchronous. The team deliberately works with significant timezone overlap to allow designers and engineers to collaborate quickly.
