Senior Product Designer

Codelitt is looking for a Senior Product Designer with deep design systems expertise to help transform existing digital products into cohesive, scalable experiences.

This role goes beyond creating individual screens. You'll work across real-world products, identifying inconsistencies, establishing reusable patterns, and translating UX research into components and systems that engineering teams can actually build and maintain.

You'll have significant autonomy and ownership, taking projects from initial audit through polished UI and implementation-ready documentation.

What You'll Do

You'll own product design initiatives end-to-end with minimal supervision, with a particular focus on improving and scaling existing products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Auditing existing platforms to understand their components, patterns, and visual language.
• Identifying inconsistencies and opportunities to consolidate repeated UI into reusable systems.
• Defining and evolving a cohesive visual language across complex digital products.
• Translating UX research and design principles into practical components, patterns, and design tokens.
• Building responsive, variant-based component libraries in Figma.
• Modernizing interfaces while preserving established information architecture, hierarchy, and core user flows.
• Connecting research insights and UX intent with polished visual execution.
• Creating high-fidelity interfaces, user flows, and detailed interaction specifications.
• Documenting design systems so engineers can implement them accurately.
• Working closely with engineering throughout delivery rather than treating design handoff as the end of the process.

Design Systems Are Central to This Role

Codelitt isn't simply looking for someone who has previously used a design system.

You'll need to understand how systems are created, structured, documented, maintained, and translated into production.

That means thinking beyond individual components and considering how tokens, variants, patterns, responsive behavior, and documentation work together across an entire product.

You should also be comfortable entering an existing product that may be inconsistent or messy and determining what should be standardized without unnecessarily redesigning established workflows.

What They're Looking For

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience designing web products, including web applications, native applications, and design systems.

You should bring:

• A strong portfolio of shipped product design work.
• Deep hands-on experience building and evolving design systems.
• Advanced Figma skills.
• Strong knowledge of product and web design processes.
• Excellent visual design fundamentals across typography, colour, spacing, hierarchy, and layout.
• Experience translating research findings into practical product decisions.
• The ability to create implementation-ready design documentation.
• Experience presenting work and design rationale to clients, strategists, and creative teams.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.

Codelitt is looking for a designer who can enter an ambiguous situation, understand the existing product, identify what needs improvement, and move the work forward without requiring constant direction.

At the same time, you'll collaborate closely with other disciplines, so clear communication, openness to feedback, and the ability to explain the reasoning behind your decisions are essential.
