About the Role

Hilo by Aktiia is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape the future of its digital health experience.

You'll take ownership of major product initiatives, including new features, personalized health insights, and early-stage product concepts across its mobile application.

This is a hands-on role combining strategic product thinking, exceptional UX/UI craftsmanship, rapid prototyping, and close collaboration with engineering.

Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you'll work alongside a Lead Product Designer and Lead UX Writer to create intuitive, polished, and impactful experiences for people managing their cardiovascular health.

The company places particular emphasis on designers who use AI tools to build working prototypes quickly and translate ideas into shipped products.

Key Responsibilities

• Own product design initiatives from early discovery and concept development through to launch.
• Define success metrics and evaluate the impact of design decisions.
• Translate user research, product analytics, and customer feedback into actionable improvements.
• Design intuitive, visually polished experiences for digital health applications.
• Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes using Figma and AI-powered tools.
• Build working prototypes rather than relying exclusively on static design mockups.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, design engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain consistency through reusable components, design tokens, and established design systems.
• Identify usability challenges, product risks, and opportunities for innovation.
• Communicate design decisions clearly and support efficient implementation.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Product Design, preferably in healthcare, consumer applications, behavior-change products, or regulated industries.
• A strong portfolio featuring 1–3 shipped product case studies that demonstrate your contribution, design decisions, and measurable results.
• Excellent UX and UI design skills, including visual hierarchy, typography, interaction design, and motion.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, and design tokens.
• Experience creating and presenting high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
• Practical, daily experience using AI tools in product design workflows.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted prototyping tools such as Claude or Lovable.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers to bring designs into production.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex decisions clearly.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver in a fast-moving environment.
• A public portfolio website is required when applying.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing mobile applications and connected devices.

Hiring Process

Location & Work Authorization

This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in the United Kingdom and Europe, including Spain.

Applicants must already have valid work authorization in their country of residence.
