Senior Product Designer

Help shape products used by millions across the open web

Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Tumblr, Jetpack, Simplenote, Pocket Casts, and other widely used digital products, is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help build experiences that keep the web open, accessible, and easy to use.

As part of a fully remote team, you'll collaborate with designers, engineers, marketers, and customer support specialists across the globe to create products that empower people to publish, build businesses, and connect online.

Your impact

This role goes beyond designing interfaces. You'll help define product direction, solve complex user problems, and deliver experiences that serve millions of creators, businesses, and communities worldwide.

You'll:

• Lead end-to-end product design from discovery through launch and continuous improvement.
• Explore ideas through rapid prototyping, user research, and iterative design.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to deliver polished product experiences.
• Use AI-powered workflows to accelerate design exploration and prototyping.
• Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals when making design decisions.
• Contribute to the evolution of products across the Automattic ecosystem.
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and help improve design practices across the company.

• Have strong visual design skills and an excellent portfolio.
• Are highly collaborative and communicate clearly in writing and asynchronously.
• Have experience with Figma and modern product development workflows.

Salary

USD $95,000 – $200,000 per year, with final compensation based on experience, skills, location, and expected impact.
