About the Role
Magnet Forensics is seeking a Senior UI Designer to lead user interface design across its suite of digital investigation tools. In this role, you’ll shape UI strategy, guide junior designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centered interfaces for complex software environments.
This position requires residency in Canada.
What You’ll Do
- Lead UI and interaction design—from concept and wireframes to prototypes and usability testing.
- Translate research insights into elegant, functional user experiences.
- Contribute to and maintain the company’s design system and visual standards.
- Conduct usability testing and use both qualitative and quantitative insights to refine designs.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and researchers.
- Participate in team critiques, mentor others, and advocate for user-centered design.
- Stay ahead of UI trends and bring fresh ideas to improve design quality.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in UI design for web or desktop applications.
- Degree or diploma in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in visual design principles (hierarchy, layout, gestalt, etc.).
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for presenting design decisions.
- Experience with data-driven design and defining measurable UX metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to new technologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG standards).
- Familiarity with AI-powered design or prototyping tools.
- Experience leading or mentoring other designers.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: CAD $111,300 – $190,800
