The Wikimedia Foundation’s Product Design team is seeking a Senior UX Prototyper to support the Moderator Tools team. You’ll design and build high-fidelity, code-based prototypes to explore and validate workflows for the Moderator Homepage, ensuring seamless user experiences for contributors with extended permissions.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop interactive, production-adjacent prototypes using live data and modern web technologies (TypeScript/JavaScript, React or Vue, HTML/CSS)
  • Run iterative experiments, defining hypotheses, testing with users, and synthesizing results
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to prototype intelligent workflows and user interactions
  • Translate complex concepts into clear communication for both internal teams and community stakeholders
  • Align prototypes with existing design systems and guidelines
  • Document and hand over work to the returning designer after the contract

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience contributing to design teams
  • Strong technical skills in UX prototyping and coding
  • Portfolio demonstrating creative use of code and prototyping abilities
  • Comfortable moving between ideation and tactical execution
  • Collaborative and enjoys engaging with a global design community
  • Experience mentoring other designers is a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
