Kanopi Studios is looking for a Contract Senior UX/UI Designer to lead website strategy and design for organizations making a positive impact.
Working with nonprofits, higher education institutions, healthcare organizations, and other mission-focused clients, you'll help transform complex website challenges into intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences. This fully remote contract role combines UX strategy, visual design, content planning, and client collaboration throughout the entire project lifecycle.
What you'll do
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you'll guide projects from early discovery through final visual design while working closely with clients and internal teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and UX research.
- Turning research insights into actionable UX and website strategies.
- Creating information architecture, navigation structures, and content strategies.
- Designing wireframes, page templates, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces.
- Developing scalable UI components and responsive design systems.
- Conducting UX, content, and design audits to identify improvement opportunities.
- Presenting design recommendations and strategic solutions to clients.
- Supporting business development through proposals, pre-sales conversations, webinars, blog content, and thought leadership.
What they're looking for
You'll likely be a great fit if you have:
- Extensive experience designing complex, content-rich websites.
- A portfolio demonstrating the full UX process, from strategy and discovery to polished UI design.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma, including prototyping and design systems.
- Strong knowledge of UX strategy, content strategy, and information architecture.
- Previous experience working in a digital or creative agency.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to solve complex design challenges.
- Experience with WordPress, Drupal, or front-end development is a plus.

Compensation
CAD $50–$70 per hour, depending on experience and skills
