Nortal is looking for a Senior UX/UI Product Designer to create high-quality digital experiences across web and mobile while helping raise the overall design standard of the team.
This is a hands-on senior role combining UX thinking, strong visual craft, prototyping and design systems with responsibilities such as presenting to leadership and mentoring other designers.
The position is fully remote across Latin America, with compensation paid in USD and collaboration with US-based clients.
Own experiences from early ideas to polished UI
You'll work across the complete design process rather than specializing in only one stage.
Projects can take you from early concepts and wireframes through interactive prototypes and final production-ready interfaces.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Exploring early product and UX concepts
- Creating user flows and wireframes
- Designing polished web and mobile interfaces
- Building interactive prototypes
- Creating micro-interactions and animations
- Working across mobile, tablet and desktop
- Presenting concepts to stakeholders
- Explaining the reasoning behind design decisions
- Collaborating with developers during implementation
- Reviewing experiences before and after development
Nortal wants someone capable of balancing user experience with a high level of visual craftsmanship.
Help evolve the design system
Design systems are an important part of the position.
You'll contribute to the patterns and components used across digital experiences, helping the team improve consistency while creating systems capable of scaling across products and platforms.
You'll work extensively with Figma, alongside tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Design for users around the world
Nortal works on digital experiences with international audiences, so you'll need to think beyond a single market.
Your designs should account for considerations such as:
- Localization
- Translation
- Different screen sizes
- Responsive behavior
- Brand consistency
- Cross-platform experiences
You'll also collaborate with Brand and other Product Design teams to make sure experiences remain visually cohesive.
Use research to validate design decisions
You'll work alongside researchers to better understand user needs and evaluate whether proposed solutions actually solve them.
That includes using research both before development to inform decisions and after implementation to evaluate results.
You'll also analyze:
- Existing UX patterns
- Competitor experiences
- Broader digital design trends
Those findings should influence the direction of your work rather than relying exclusively on visual intuition.
Work closely with Engineering
Strong collaboration with developers is another important part of the job.
You'll communicate design intent through prototypes and documentation, answer implementation questions and help ensure the final experience maintains the expected level of quality.
The goal isn't simply to hand over Figma files — you'll remain involved as designs become working digital products.
Be a senior design voice
Nortal expects this designer to influence the quality of work beyond their own individual projects.
You'll:
- Participate in creative brainstorming
- Help establish design direction
- Present to senior leadership
- Defend design decisions
- Mentor junior designers
- Share design knowledge
- Help improve overall design quality
- Take initiative on ambiguous problems
You'll need to be comfortable operating independently while still collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
