About the Role
Amazon Health is hiring a Senior UX Researcher to help reimagine the future of healthcare delivery. You’ll lead in-depth research to understand the needs and pain points of patients, providers, and clinicians, and translate those insights into strategic opportunities for product development.
This role focuses on complex, sensitive topics across the healthcare journey—including in-clinic visits, health record management, and telehealth experiences. You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering to shape experiences that improve real-world health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead generative and evaluative research across multiple health-related workstreams
- Conduct and synthesize mixed-method studies (diary studies, surveys, concept testing, etc.)
- Map healthcare journeys and define key user segments and personas
- Translate research into actionable insights that inform product direction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed findings into roadmaps
- Ensure ethical research practices and responsible handling of protected health information (PHI)
Requirements
- MA/MS in experimental psychology, HCI, anthropology, design, or related field
- 7+ years of hands-on UX research experience across methodologies
- Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative synthesis
- Experience conducting research in healthcare or other sensitive domains
- Strong communication and storytelling skills for diverse stakeholders
- Comfortable working autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with trust, safety, or privacy practices in healthcare
- Experience with cross-platform health services (e.g., mobile, web, telehealth)
- Demonstrated thought leadership and end-to-end research ownership
Compensation and Benefits
Amazon offers a competitive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of benefits. Pay is adjusted by geographic market.
- Salary range: $137,000 – $226,500/year
