About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically savvy UX Researcher to lead strategic research across our product experiences and payment systems. This role is perfect for someone who blends deep user research expertise with a strong grasp of technical systems and data analysis.

As a Technical UX Researcher at Ruby Labs, you’ll dive into competitive analysis, uncovering how industry leaders design, monetize, and scale their products. You’ll conduct both traditional user research and technical investigations—like traffic analysis and payment method evaluation—to fuel product innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive research on competitor products to analyze UX, monetization models, feature sets, and overall strategies.
  • Reverse-engineer critical product flows such as onboarding, engagement, and retention to identify best practices and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare clear, insightful reports presenting competitive benchmarks and UX evaluations.
  • Analyze end-to-end payment processes, including checkout experiences, subscription models, and fraud prevention tactics.
  • Evaluate payment providers, billing infrastructure, and pricing strategies used by top competitors.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years in UX Research, Product Research, or similar roles focusing on product and user behavior analysis.
  • Proven experience in structured competitive research and technical product analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently design, execute, and document research projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex findings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Background in fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, or other digital-first industries is a plus.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with design tools like Figma and Miro, and research platforms.
  • Experience in QA or exposure to developer tools.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills (Python, JavaScript).
  • Previous work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

Location

We operate in the CET (Central European Time) zone. Candidates worldwide are welcome, provided they are located within ±4 hours of CET for smooth collaboration.
