The Role
Nooks is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer to help build the next generation of secure infrastructure and software tools used in mission-critical national security operations.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with users, subject matter experts, and company leaders to design intuitive, scalable digital systems that meet the needs of both government and enterprise clients. Your work will define user journeys and visual systems that make complex platforms more usable and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Design user flows and experiences for Nooks’ digital products and platforms.
- Create and refine designs, wireframes, and prototypes using Figma or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain design standards to ensure a consistent user experience across products.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into design solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve product quality, usability, and performance.
- Gather feedback directly from users and stakeholders to guide design decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in UI/UX or product design.
- Proficiency with Figma, Miro, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience leading the design of a full standalone product or a key feature within a larger platform.
- Ability to take ownership of complex design challenges and hand off effectively to developers.
- Strong understanding of system constraints, scalability, and performance considerations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Location
Remote within the United States. Preference for candidates near Washington D.C., Colorado Springs, or El Segundo, CA.
Eligibility
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States.
- Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
Compensation
$107,000 – $125,000 per year
Includes potential equity options as part of an early-stage, fast-growing startup.
