UI/UX Designer

Design enterprise software where usability really matters

Peraton is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer to help shape a large-scale Salesforce CRM platform supporting government users.

You'll work alongside a lead designer, taking complex business and technical requirements and turning them into clear, scalable experiences across Salesforce Lightning and Experience Cloud.

This is a hands-on role spanning UX research, interaction design, prototyping and visual execution — with the additional challenge of designing within the constraints of a mature enterprise platform.

What you'll be working on

Your day-to-day work will cover the full design process, from understanding user problems through to detailed interfaces ready for development.

You'll:

• Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Design experiences for Salesforce Lightning pages and Experience Cloud portals.
• Translate complicated business requirements into usable workflows.
• Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews and usability testing.
• Work directly with Salesforce developers, administrators and Product Owners to understand technical constraints.
• Apply the Salesforce Lightning Design System to maintain consistency throughout the platform.
• Develop and maintain reusable components, patterns and design-system documentation.
• Present concepts and explain design decisions to cross-functional teams and government stakeholders.
• Ensure experiences meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Designing within a system

A significant part of the challenge here is working within an established technology ecosystem.

Rather than designing every interaction from scratch, you'll need to understand what Salesforce can do, where its constraints lie and how the Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) can be used to create experiences that remain both consistent and scalable.

That means working particularly closely with engineering and Salesforce specialists throughout the design process instead of simply handing over finished Figma files.

What they're looking for

Peraton is seeking an experienced designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end enterprise application design.

Depending on education, candidates should have:

• 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree
• 6+ years with a master's degree
• 3+ years with a PhD

You'll also need at least 2 years of experience designing enterprise CRM or Salesforce products.

Expert-level proficiency with tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD is expected, alongside experience with human-centered design, design thinking and journey mapping.

An understanding of responsive design and basic HTML/CSS will also help you collaborate effectively with development teams.

You'll stand out if...

You already have experience with Salesforce Lightning Design System, Agile/Scrum teams or accessibility standards.

A Salesforce Certified Platform User Experience Designer certification would be valuable, as would previous experience designing government or Department of Defense systems.

About Peraton

Peraton is a national security and technology company working with U.S. government agencies and the armed forces across areas including enterprise technology, cyber, space and national security.

The salary range for this position is $104,000–$166,000, with final compensation depending on experience, education, skills, location and other role-specific factors. Additional compensation may be available depending on the position.
