TORO is a next-generation food discovery app that focuses on rating individual dishes rather than restaurants. We're creating a platform where users can track and review the exact meals they eat — not just where they ate them.

We are currently seeking a freelance UI/UX designer to help us reimagine TORO with a bold, playful, and personality-driven user experience. This is a contract position and is fully remote.

Project Goals
We're aiming for a redesign that feels more like a game than a typical app — engaging, colorful, and fun to use. The ideal candidate will help us create an interactive experience that brings energy and character to the food discovery process.

Key Objectives

  • Reimagine the current TORO app interface with a creative and gamified approach
  • Improve the workflow for reviewing and rating specific dishes
  • Incorporate motion design and playful micro-interactions
  • Lay the foundation for future features such as:
    • Personalized food profile matching
    • Dish identity badges
    • Food delivery and reservation integrations
    • Friend-matching based on food preferences

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a designer who:

  • Thinks like a product strategist but enjoys pushing creative boundaries
  • Has experience designing mobile-first experiences for iOS
  • Enjoys working on projects that involve food, games, or storytelling
  • Understands how to design scalable systems that are still fun and engaging
  • Can suggest features or UX structures beyond the initial brief

Compensation
This is a freelance role. TORO is currently in its early stages and is pre-revenue. We are open to discussing compensation models, including the possibility of equity for the right collaborator.
