The American Journalism Project is seeking a UX design partner to lead a user experience overhaul of their website. This initiative will align with an internal content and messaging refresh, aiming to deliver a more strategic, accessible, and engaging online experience.
Project Goals
- Redesign site architecture to prioritize discoverability and ease of navigation
- Present content in a user-friendly and audience-relevant way
- Reflect new messaging tone and content strategy
- Ensure a seamless, responsive, and accessible design across all devices
Scope of Work
- Conduct a UX audit of the current site
- Redesign the site’s information architecture and key layouts
- Develop wireframes for essential templates (homepage, blog, program pages, etc.)
- Incorporate feedback from AJP staff and stakeholders
- Deliver design assets for handoff to the development team
Project Timeline
- RFP released: June 18, 2025
- Proposals due: July 2, 2025
- Finalist interviews: Week of July 7
- Project kickoff: July 14
- UX audit & discovery: July 14–25
- Wireframe development & feedback: July 28–Aug 25
- Final wireframes & iteration: Aug 25–Sep 18
- Presentation & approval: Sep 24
- Implementation support: Sep 25–30
- Final delivery: Oct 1, 2025
