This job is curated by UX Remote Talent from external sources. We are not affiliated with the employer.

GWEN offers an AI-powered UX training internship designed for students, graduates and aspiring UX designers who want practical project experience before applying for professional design roles.

Unlike a traditional internship, this is not employment and does not provide a salary. It is a paid training program built around simulated professional UX projects, mentorship and AI-assisted feedback.

The interview and first project are free. Continuing through the complete seven-project program costs $199 as a one-time payment, with regional pricing available in lower-income countries.

How the internship works

You'll begin with a simulated UX job interview before moving directly into your first design assignment.

The initial project is free and involves analyzing a real client's signup experience, identifying UX problems and redesigning the flow with guidance from a mentor.

If you decide to continue, you'll work through seven structured UX projects at your own pace.

During the program you'll:

  • Complete a simulated UX job interview.
  • Analyze an existing signup experience.
  • Redesign real-world UX flows.
  • Receive feedback from a mentor.
  • Work alongside AI teammates designed to challenge your decisions and provide feedback.
  • Complete seven structured UX projects.
  • Develop work that can be turned into portfolio case studies.
  • Practice explaining and defending your design decisions.

The program is self-paced and can be completed remotely from anywhere.

Who it's for

GWEN is primarily aimed at people at the beginning of their UX careers, including:

  • UX students.
  • Recent graduates.
  • Aspiring UX designers.
  • People transitioning into UX.
  • Junior designers who need more portfolio material.

You don't need extensive professional UX experience to participate.

However, you should be comfortable working independently, receiving feedback and iterating on your work.

What you'll need

The requirements are relatively straightforward:

  • A laptop or desktop computer.
  • An interest in UX Design.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Motivation to complete projects at your own pace.
  • Willingness to receive and apply feedback.

The program doesn't currently run on mobile devices.

What you'll receive

After completing the program, GWEN provides:

  • A reference letter.
  • Certificate of completion.
  • Portfolio review on request.
  • Portfolio-ready project work.
  • Lifetime access to the program.
  • Access to future projects added to the platform.

The emphasis is on gaining practice, feedback and evidence of your UX skills that can later support applications for junior design positions.

Important: this is not a paid UX job

Despite being described as an internship, candidates should understand the commercial model before applying.

GWEN does not pay participants. Participants pay GWEN to access the full training program.

The simulated interview and first UX project are free. After that, the complete internship costs $199, with automatic regional pricing for eligible lower-income countries.

There is also no guaranteed job or employment offer after completion.

This makes the opportunity closer to a structured UX training and portfolio-building program than a conventional employer-paid internship.

About GWEN

GWEN provides an AI-assisted environment where aspiring UX designers can practice working through realistic design briefs while receiving mentor and AI feedback.

The program focuses on giving early-career designers something that's often difficult to acquire before their first professional role: experience working through complete UX problems and material they can develop into portfolio case studies.
