UX Researcher

HeyMilo Labs is looking for experienced UX Researchers to contribute to AI training and evaluation through paid, recorded discussions with fellow research professionals.

Rather than conducting traditional user studies for a product team, you'll participate in unscripted conversations exploring how researchers make decisions, evaluate evidence, select methodologies, and communicate findings.

Your professional insights and critical thinking will help improve how AI systems understand and respond to complex user research scenarios.

What You'll Do

• Participate in recorded conversations with experienced UX research professionals.

• Discuss research planning, participant recruitment, interviews, usability testing, and research synthesis.

• Evaluate different research methodologies and explain which approaches are most appropriate for specific product challenges.

• Interpret fictional research findings while acknowledging uncertainty and limitations.

• Challenge assumptions, consider alternative explanations, and engage in constructive debates.

• Explore effective ways to communicate research findings when stakeholders disagree or evidence is incomplete.

• Contribute professional expertise to AI training and evaluation.

What We're Looking For

• Professional experience in UX research, user research, human factors, or a related discipline.

• Practical experience designing studies, conducting research, analyzing findings, and presenting insights.

• Strong verbal communication skills and fluency in the language used during each session.

• Ability to distinguish research observations from interpretations and support conclusions with evidence.

• Confidence discussing research decisions and responding to constructive criticism.

• Comfort participating in spontaneous, in-depth professional conversations.

Acting experience is not required. The focus is on authentic research expertise and effective communication.

Selection Process

Following an initial screening, selected candidates will be invited to a paid, recorded conversation with another research professional with a similar background.

During the session, participants will discuss research methodologies, examine professional scenarios, challenge interpretations, and exchange perspectives.

These recordings may be licensed to AI developers for training and evaluation under agreed terms.

Compensation and Remote Requirements

HeyMilo Labs offers $40–$100 per hour, depending on the assignment.

The applicable rate, expected time commitment, and recording licensing terms will be communicated before accepting an assignment.

To participate, you'll need:

• A quiet environment and reliable internet connection.

• A webcam and microphone capable of producing clear video and audio.

• Willingness to appear on camera without filters or background blur.

• Ability to discuss fictional or anonymized research examples without sharing confidential information.

This is an independent contractor opportunity, and ongoing assignments or guaranteed working hours are not specified.
