Kodify is a digital entertainment company with more than 15 years of experience creating video content and operating high-traffic online platforms used by millions of people worldwide.
The company operates internationally, bringing together team members from more than 20 cultural backgrounds. Its creative teams work across content production, technology, digital experiences, and audience growth.
Kodify is now looking for a Video Ad Designer who can combine strong video and motion design skills with a performance-marketing mindset.
About the Role
This position focuses on creating video advertising designed to drive measurable results.
You'll develop paid acquisition creative for formats including pre-roll, native advertising, and other digital campaigns. Much of the work will involve transforming Kodify's existing video library into compelling ads, while you'll also help define the creative requirements for new advertising shoots.
The role goes beyond traditional video editing. You'll look at campaign performance, test creative variations, understand which concepts are converting, and use those insights to improve the next generation of ads.
It's a combination of video editing, motion design, creative strategy, experimentation, and performance analysis.
What You'll Do
- Develop concepts and produce video creative for paid digital campaigns.
- Edit existing footage into conversion-focused advertising.
- Create strong openings and hooks designed to capture attention quickly.
- Produce motion graphics, animated typography, overlays, transitions, and end cards.
- Adapt campaigns for different formats, durations, placements, and aspect ratios.
- Prepare creative briefs, storyboards, and shot lists when original footage is required.
- Work with production crews to communicate what footage is needed for advertising campaigns.
- Build multiple creative variations for testing.
- Run and evaluate A/B tests across advertising creative and landing-page experiences.
- Review metrics such as CTR, CPA, engagement, LTV, conversions, and watch-through performance.
- Turn campaign results into actionable ideas for future creative.
- Partner with media buyers to understand audience and campaign performance.
- Contribute to landing-page optimization and conversion-focused creative decisions.
- Handle color correction, audio synchronization, and sound mixing.
- Maintain consistency across a large volume of campaign assets.
- Organize source files, versions, and media libraries efficiently.
- Keep up with emerging advertising formats, creative trends, and production tools.
Creative + Performance Design
Kodify is specifically looking for someone who understands that successful advertising creative isn't judged only by how polished it looks.
You'll need to understand why people stop, watch, click, and convert.
That means examining campaign data and using it as part of the creative process. A successful concept might be expanded into multiple variations, while an underperforming approach may be dropped quickly in favor of another direction.
Strong instincts around hooks, pacing, typography, storytelling, and the opening seconds of an ad will be particularly important.
What They're Looking For
Candidates should have experience producing video creative specifically for paid advertising campaigns, supported by a portfolio or reel demonstrating their work.
Relevant skills include:
- Strong video editing and post-production experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Photoshop.
- Motion graphics and animated typography.
- Ability to turn existing footage into effective advertising concepts.
- Experience preparing briefs, storyboards, or shot lists for video production.
- Understanding of paid digital advertising formats.
- Knowledge of platform specifications and creative requirements.
- Hands-on experience with creative A/B testing.
- Ability to interpret campaign performance data.
- Familiarity with metrics including CTR, CPA, LTV, engagement, and watch-through rates.
- Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and export requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and visual consistency.
- Ability to produce and iterate creative at a fast pace.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Kodify does not expect this designer to operate cameras during shoots. The role focuses on defining the creative requirements and working with the production team responsible for filming.
Nice to Have
Experience with landing-page optimization and conversion rate optimization (CRO) would be particularly useful.
Candidates who can demonstrate not only strong advertising work but also explain how their creative performed will have an opportunity to show the performance-oriented thinking the role requires.
Learning & Benefits
Kodify offers a notable professional-development benefit: an annual training and development budget equivalent to 10% of salary.
Additional benefits include:
- Competitive compensation.
- Generous paid time off.
- One month paid sabbatical after three years.
- Birthday leave.
- Extended parental leave.
- Health and wellness budget.
- Health insurance.
- Modern equipment and workspace support.
- International company retreats and travel opportunities.
Who This Role Could Suit
This role could be a particularly good match for a designer whose experience sits between Video Editor, Motion Designer, and Performance Creative Designer.
Rather than simply receiving footage and producing finished videos, you'll participate in a continuous cycle of:
Concept → production → editing → launch → testing → performance analysis → iteration
For someone who enjoys both creative execution and understanding the numbers behind successful advertising, the position offers considerable ownership over the entire performance-creative process.
