Start your design career working from anywhere
Xapo Bank is looking for a Graduate Visual Designer to join its global team and work across brand, marketing, motion, and emerging creative technologies.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for designers at the very beginning of their careers. Professional experience isn't required — Xapo is more interested in your portfolio, visual craft, curiosity, and potential.
The role is part of Xapo's 12-month Graduate Programme, with the possibility of becoming a full-time team member after completing the programme.
And it's genuinely location-independent: Xapo operates as a fully distributed company with team members across more than 50 countries.
What you'll be designing
You'll work alongside experienced designers, marketers, and product teams to bring the Xapo brand to life across different digital channels.
Your work will include:
- Creating visual assets for social media, campaigns, advertising, and other marketing initiatives.
- Designing motion graphics and animations for digital content and product walkthroughs.
- Producing polished visual concepts using existing brand assets and emerging creative tools.
- Translating creative briefs into finished design work.
- Working with designers and marketers to iterate on concepts and respond to feedback.
- Maintaining consistency across Xapo's visual identity.
- Helping evolve the company's broader visual language as your experience grows.
You'll have the opportunity to work across visual design, motion, AI-generated imagery, and potentially 3D, rather than being limited to one type of creative work.
A graduate role where your portfolio matters
Xapo isn't expecting years of professional experience.
They're looking for someone with a strong visual portfolio, and that work can come from university projects, personal projects, freelance work, or internships.
You should be comfortable with Figma and have hands-on experience with motion tools such as Rive, Lottie, Principle, or After Effects.
Experience with Midjourney or comparable AI image-generation tools is also part of what Xapo is looking for, reflecting how emerging creative technology is becoming part of modern visual design workflows.
What they're looking for
You'll need:
- Strong visual design fundamentals and attention to detail.
- A portfolio demonstrating your design ability and creative thinking.
- Proficiency with Figma.
- Experience creating motion or animation.
- Experience using AI image-generation tools.
- The ability to manage different creative tasks simultaneously.
- Confidence working independently within a distributed team.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly.
Professional experience is optional, with 0–1 year of experience considered appropriate for the position.
You'll stand out if...
Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, or Premiere is useful but not essential.
An interest in 3D tools such as Blender or Spline is another advantage, as is some understanding of design systems and component-based design.
Xapo is a financial technology company, so an interest in fintech, banking, crypto, or financial products may also help you connect with the work.
About the Graduate Programme
The programme runs for 12 months and is designed to give early-career professionals practical experience while working alongside established professionals in fintech, banking, and technology.
Successful graduates may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent position at Xapo once the programme concludes.
Xapo also provides a learning and development budget, flexible PTO, significant autonomy over how you structure your work, and the opportunity to collaborate with an international team.
The position is 100% remote and can be performed from anywhere in the world, provided you have a suitable workspace and reliable internet connection.
